Receiving a dementia diagnosis is overwhelming for both the individual and their family and over time the individual may need more support than previously. This can mean that family are increasingly stepping in to support.

Continuing to stay active is key for ensuring individuals remain as independent as possible, for as long as possible and doing things that make them happy is essential for wellbeing.

Enablement Support can support wellbeing and independence whilst easing carer stress.

Enablement Support is a friendly, reliable support service to individuals who have dementia. During our time together I can support you to continue doing things you enjoy, that help to brighten your day and contribute towards having a good quality of life.

Activities are based on the individuals wishes and needs and can vary from simply having a cup of tea and a chat, doing a much-loved hobby in their home or heading out into the community to a cafe, library, park etc.

Due to my extensive experience working with individuals with dementia, both as an Occupational Therapist in the NHS and as a carer in a Dementia Specialist Care Home, I have the skills and knowledge to ensure individuals are supported in the best way possible and continue to be empowered to maintain as much independence as possible.
